Cindy Francine Silva

June 15, 1956 - April 21, 2013

Daughter of the late Melvia and Henry Silva, passed away on Apr. 21, 2013. Survivors include brother, Randy M. (Herberta) Silva and sisters, Debra E. (Harvey) Yuh and Edee Lillian B. (Dan) Silva Trapp. She was wonderfully supported, nurtured and loved by her adult foster care family of Vicky and Arman Cayabyab and their sons; Joshua, Aaron and Arman Jr. Cindy spent time at various locations of the Special Education Center of Hawai'i. She would arrive at 9am via handivan and leave at 2pm. A service report says "Cindy appears happy and comfortable spending time with her friends at and away from the center during the provision of day service." She was a happy, pleasant, easy going, friendly person who got along with everyone at the center. She "smiles and laughs when happy", the report says. Cindy especially enjoyed participating in activities like; beauty breaks, community outings with her friends - Short walks around the center, Walmart, Neal Blaisdell Park, Sam's Club, Karaoke - to name a few, and regular rest in the recliner. She particularly enjoyed listening to contemporary and easy listening Hawaiian music. The staff noted that she seemed more relaxed and at peace when she listened to background music while engaging in in-group activities. Cindy was comfortable in in-group activities and found pleasure being around people she knows. She also enjoyed massages, facials, and picking her eye shadow and shade of lipstick. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Our family, on behalf of our parents, would like to extend our heartfelt aloha to all of you for sharing in the celebration of Cindy's life.
