Viola Palenapa Felise Palepale
November 26, 1927 - October 18, 2016
Viola Palepale 88, died Tuesday October 18, 2016 in Honolulu. Born in the village of Pea, Tonga on November 26, 1927 Viola lost his battle with lung cancer and died peacefully at home in the presence of his children, grandchildren, and family. He was married to Ausasala Maiava Fa'agata from Fagatogo , American Samoa. for over 40 years before she died on Dec, 5 1996. He was also preceded in death by 15 of 21 siblings. Siblings who have passed include: Papaa Palepale, Vilimanavahetau Palepale, Melekakala Palepale Malafu, Soane Palepale, Ma’ata Palepale Folaumoeloa, Tangitangi Sevelo, Mahola Palepale, Afa Latailomoloma Palepale, Kaufoou Tahi, Latavai Palepale, Fakavale Tapua, Soana Palepale, Ana Long Palepale Taufa, Seletute Palepale ‘Unga, Inoke ‘Apolinale Palepale. Surviving siblings include: Sheila Flemming, Kesi Petersen, Oseola Petersen, Maurice Peterson,. Francis Petersen and. Lia Peterson. His children include Beverly Tavake, Mahafutau (Sesalina) Sevelo, Gus Okusi (Ane) Palepale, Rev. Fr. Marisi Palepale SS.CC, Afa (Stephanie) Palepale, Emeli Sarah Palepale, Remer (Masiano) Williams, Lovey (Petelo) Papalii, Ane (Fetu'u) Taai, Silo Palepale, Junior Motu (Loma) Seui Deceased children include: Ane (Lanu) Fung Chen Pen and Ricky Evenson. He also leaves behind 35 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 5 great, great, grandchildren. A Wake Service celebrating his life starts at 6:30 PM Sunday, October 30 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Ohua St. Waikiki. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Monday October 31 at the church. Burial follows at 11:00 AM at Hawaii Memorial Park Cemetery, Kaneohe. “For I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7 Please check back for updates.
