Marion "Buddy" Kaihikapuonalani Aiu Vasconcellos

October 15, 1918 - January 10, 2015

Marion "Buddy" Kaihikapuonalani Aiu Vasconcellos, 96 of Honolulu, a retired school teacher, died on January 10, 2015 at home at Arcadia in Honolulu. She was born in Honolulu to Oliver R. Aiu and Marion K. Muller of Kealakehe, Kona. She had two sons: Patrick and Mike Vasconcellos. Both have passed on. Buddy taught at Roosevelt and Waianae High Schools. She also wrote a training program for tour guides for the Hawaii Visitors Bureau. Buddy was a member of the Hawaiian Civic Club of Honolulu, Daughters of Hawaii, Hui Imi Naauao, Delta Kappa Gamma-Alpha and Third Order of Mary. She is survived by granddaughters, Ki'ilani Spencer and Sarah Vasconcellos and grandson, Kaipo Kamai. Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, January 30 at Star of the Sea Church.
